LOCATION
BY CAR: Driving on the Trans Caprivi between Rundu and Victoria Falls you will cross the village of Kongola (400km east of Rundu) where you will turn South and drive for another 25km. You will see the Camp Kwando sign.
BY PLANE: The camp’s airstrip is that of Lianshulu. Coordinates are: S 17°46' 500', E 023° 18' 300' Ref: (Mpacha-Katima Mulilo)
ACCOMMODATION
Camp Kwando offers 3 different kinds of accommodation.
There are 15 thatched roof Island Tents each with two beds with mosquito nets.
1 Family Unit. Tents are built on poles with a terrace overlooking the river. En suite open-sky bathroom with shower, toilet and basin (hot & cold water).
The 4 Tree Houses are larger thatched roof bungalows built on stiltz. Very spacious room with big en suite bathroom (bath, shower, toilet and basin). Expanding terrace.
The 10 camp site is situated between the main building and the island. Ten camping spots on well maintained lawn. Showers, Toilets, basins as well as area for laundry.
ACTIVITIES
Camp Kwando offers a variety of activities including Boat trips on the Kwando River, visits to the Traditional Village nearby, Game Drives, seeing the Village Schools, Trips to Mamili and Fishing on the Kwando River and mokoro trips down the river.
FACILITIES
Restaurant, Bar, Curio Shop, Swimming Pool, Boma with beautiful View over the Kwando River, Lounge Area & Reading Corner.
